About Clark
Meet Clark Griswold, a playful, affectionate young dog who received a second chance just when he needed it most.
Clark was placed on the euthanasia list at Bibb County Animal Shelter before a new Furever After Rescue foster stepped forward to save him. He arrived in heartbreaking condition. His skin was severely irritated, he was constantly itching, and he had numerous wounds—including bloody injuries around his ears.
Thankfully, safety, care, and treatment made an incredible difference. Clark healed quickly after leaving the shelter and has begun showing everyone the happy, loving dog hidden beneath those injuries.
His difficult beginning has not stopped him from trusting people, enjoying other animals, or embracing the comforts of foster-home life.
Characteristics
Affectionate: When someone sits down, Clark likes to rest his head on their legs and wait for his favorite head rubs.
Dog-Friendly: He has been friendly with pets of different sizes and would love to share his future home with other dogs.
Playful: Tennis balls and sticks are among his favorite things.
Able to Settle: Clark loves to play, but he follows the example of the resident dogs and relaxes when they do.
House-Trained: He already understands where he should go to the bathroom.
Crate-Trained: Clark is comfortable spending time in his kennel.
People-Oriented: He enjoys attention and wants to be close to his family.
Sunbathing Companion: Clark loves relaxing in the sunshine beside his foster brother, Clint Eastwood.

Training
Clark is still young and continuing to learn basic obedience. He is beginning to understand several useful commands and cues, including:
“Down”
“Go to bed,” meaning to enter his kennel
“Outside”
His future family should be prepared to continue his training with patience, consistency, praise, and rewards. Positive reinforcement will help Clark strengthen the skills he has already started learning while building confidence and trust.
No particular dislikes or fears have been identified so far.
Life with Other Animals
Clark has been very friendly with pets of different sizes. His foster believes he would especially enjoy having one or more compatible dogs in his permanent home.
He has not yet been directly evaluated with cats. However, he has calmly shared a room with his foster family’s guinea pigs without showing noticeable interest in them. That is encouraging, but it should not be treated as confirmation that he can safely live with cats or other small animals.
Any introductions should be gradual, closely supervised, and guided by the rescue. His experience with children was not provided, so families should discuss their household directly with Furever After Rescue.
Ideal Home
Clark is searching for a loving family that will give him the attention, companionship, and stability he missed during the beginning of his life.
His ideal home will:
Include one or more friendly, compatible dogs
Give him plenty of attention and affection
Continue his basic obedience training

Clark has already undergone an incredible transformation—from an injured dog facing euthanasia to a happy, affectionate companion who loves other dogs, toys, sunshine, and head rubs.
