AZ Husky Rescue requires an application before arranging a meet-and-greet. Its process also includes a virtual home visit and an in-person meeting with all household members and resident pets. Most dogs require a securely fenced yard with fencing at least six feet high, although exceptions may be considered.
About Jameson
Jameson is a sweet, energetic husky who has already survived more than most dogs ever should.
He was saved from the euthanasia list at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control after being labeled too fearful. Rescuers later learned that he had survived distemper as a puppy—a disease that left him with damaged teeth and minor lifelong neurological differences.
His tongue may stick out, stairs can be challenging, and he sometimes needs extra time to position his body when following a cue. Jameson understands what is being asked of him; he simply needs someone patient enough to let his body catch up.
Jameson is affectionate once he feels comfortable and loves cuddling with people he trusts. He is also a classic talkative husky who enjoys singing his “husky songs,” especially around people and cars.
He has plenty of energy and loves walks, backyard adventures, chasing lizards, and playing with other dogs. He walks well with minimal pulling, reportedly has good recall, and has not tried to escape his foster family’s fenced yard.
Jameson previously displayed minor resource guarding around treats and had one bite incident. After completing a board-and-train program, he made tremendous progress and has not had another reported incident. Because he is highly food-motivated, positive reinforcement works especially well for him.

Jameson survived distemper, escaped euthanasia, completed professional training, and has waited more than a year for the right family.
