About Lincoln Leroy

Meet Lincoln Leroy, a big, bouncy ball of sunshine who is ready to fill someone’s life with endless tail wags, goofy grins, and plenty of laughter!

Lincoln is an adult Black Mouth Cur and Hound mix whose enthusiasm for life is contagious. Although he is fully grown, he has never lost his playful spirit. He loves racing around the backyard, going for walks, playing fetch, receiving belly rubs, and settling in for a good snuggle session.

Every morning is a reason for Lincoln to celebrate. His cheerful, happy-go-lucky attitude can brighten even the grumpiest Monday, and his soulful eyes and floppy ears make him even harder to resist.

Characteristics

  • Friendly and Affectionate: Lincoln loves his people and enjoys attention, belly rubs, kisses, and snuggling.

  • Playful and Energetic: Fetch, backyard zoomies, walks, and active playtime are some of his favorite things.

  • Funny: Lincoln’s goofy personality and excitement for life will keep his future family smiling.

  • Smart and Eager to Learn: He learns quickly and responds best to positive reinforcement.

  • Loyal: Lincoln is ready to become someone’s devoted companion, adventure buddy, and personal cheerleader.

  • Athletic and Curious: He enjoys exercise, outdoor activities, and opportunities to explore.

  • House-Trained: Lincoln is already housebroken and prepared for home life.

  • Cuddly: Once playtime is over, he is happy to become a couch companion and snuggle buddy.

Life with Children and Other Animals

Lincoln is listed as good with children, but an older-child home would be the best fit for his size, energy, and sometimes dominant personality. Older children who understand boundaries and can help remind him when it is time to settle down may enjoy having such a playful companion.

Lincoln wants to be the star of his future family and should be the only dog in the home. He is also not compatible with cats. A home without other pets will allow him to enjoy all the attention, toys, and affection for himself.

Training and Exercise

Lincoln is smart, quick to learn, and eager to please. He thrives with positive reinforcement, consistent expectations, and regular opportunities to exercise.

Daily walks, games of fetch, outdoor playtime, and mentally engaging activities will help Lincoln direct his energy positively. After getting the activity he needs, he will be ready to settle down and enjoy quality time with his family.

His future adopters should be prepared to continue working on his manners while giving him the structure, encouragement, and patience he needs to flourish.

Ideal Home

Lincoln would thrive with an active family that appreciates a large dog with a playful spirit and plenty of personality. He needs people who will include him in walks, backyard games, adventures, and relaxing evenings at home.

His ideal home will:

  • Have no other dogs or cats

  • Include adults or older children

  • Provide regular exercise and playtime

  • Continue his training through positive reinforcement

  • Give him plenty of affection, structure, and opportunities to snuggle

If you are looking for a loyal adventure buddy, enthusiastic playmate, cuddle partner, and four-legged personal cheerleader, Lincoln Leroy may be exactly who you have been waiting for. Learn more about Lincoln through Petfinder.
