About Cookie

Meet Cookie, a 5-6-year-old French Bulldog with a stunning brindle coat and a heart full of love. This small, 20-lb sweetheart was once used as a breeder and discarded after her last litter, but a Good Samaritan and Mending Souls gave her a second chance. With her medical needs addressed—including a hernia repair and spay—Cookie is now thriving and ready for a forever home where she can be cherished. Her playful personality, unique 3/4 blue eye, and affectionate nature make her a perfect companion for a loving family.

Characteristics

  • Affectionate & Playful: Cookie loves being petted and craves human attention.

  • Resilient & Dignified: She’s overcome a tough past and now shines with confidence.

  • Friendly & Curious: Gets along with other dogs and children, with a curious, fun-loving spirit.

  • Well-Mannered: Crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and non-reactive with food.

Health and Care

Cookie is spayed (with noted scar tissue from past C-sections), up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives (negative heartworm test). Her hernia was repaired, and skin irritation from fleas is healing well. A comprehensive vet check in September 2025 confirms she’s in excellent health, with no major concerns for her brachycephalic structure or anesthesia risks. Her adoption includes a microchip with registration. Cookie is crate-trained and house-trained, though she may need guidance to adjust to new potty routines. A slow feeder bowl is recommended to prevent regurgitation.

Cookie’s Story

Cookie, a 5-6-year-old French Bulldog, has a story of resilience and hope. Originally used as a breeder and discarded after her last litter, she was taken in by a Good Samaritan who noticed a lump on her belly (later identified as a hernia). Surrendered to Mending Souls in St. Cloud, FL, Cookie received the care she needed: hernia repair, spaying, flea treatment, and updated vaccines. Despite a scarred uterus from multiple C-sections, she’s now sterile and healthy, with her skin irritation improving and no chronic skin issues typical of the breed.

Once head-shy and cautious, Cookie has blossomed into a confident, affectionate pup who loves walks, cuddles, and human attention. A single reported snippy reaction toward a man early in her rescue journey hasn’t recurred, and she’s now comfortable with leashing and handling. Cookie gets along with other dogs and children, walks well on a leash, and stays close off-leash. With her unique 3/4 blue eye and darling personality, she’s ready to be the star of a loving home that sees her as the princess she truly is.

Ideal Home

Cookie would thrive in a loving, patient home with owners who can pamper her and provide a calm environment. A secure apartment or home with minimal stairs is ideal for her small size and brachycephalic needs. She’s great with adults, children, and other dogs, making her suitable for multi-dog households or families, but her compatibility with cats is untested. Owners should use a harness (not a collar) and a slow feeder bowl, and be mindful of food safety practices. A suburban or urban setting in St. Cloud or nearby, with plenty of affection and gentle guidance, will make Cookie’s life truly special.
