About Hershey
Hershey is a beautiful young Pit Bull Terrier with a sweet, social personality and a hopeful future ahead of her. At approximately 9 months old, she is still a puppy with plenty of growing, learning, and exploring left to do.
Hershey was one of five baby girls rescued from a property in Clearlake, California, where limited access to affordable spay-and-neuter services had contributed to unchecked breeding and unwanted puppies.
Dogwood Animal Rescue stepped in to help the entire canine family. In addition to taking the puppies into rescue, the organization arranged spay surgeries for their mother and all six intact female dogs living on the property. This effort helped prevent additional unplanned litters while giving Hershey and her sisters a chance to find safe, loving homes.
The puppies arrived in rough condition, but with proper care and time to recover, they blossomed beautifully. Hershey is now ready to leave her difficult beginning behind and experience the security, companionship, and affection every dog deserves.
