Lilly’s Story
Lilly, a 6-year-old German Shepherd and Australian Shepherd Mix, is a vibrant and resilient dog who’s ready to find her forever family. Rescued by Welfare for Animals Guild (WAG) in Sequim, WA, Lilly has spent her time winning hearts with her playful energy and sharp intelligence. She’s a graduate of a prison training program, where she showcased her smarts and eagerness to learn, mastering house and leash manners that make her a dream companion. Lilly loves nothing more than hitting the trails for a run, playing fetch in the yard, or soaking up affection from her favorite people.
While Lilly is friendly with humans and adores older kids, she’s dog-selective and prefers to be the only pet in the home, avoiding cats, small pets, or other dogs to keep her focus on her family. Her foster team notes her independent streak pairs perfectly with her affectionate side, making her a low-maintenance yet deeply loyal friend. After years of waiting, Lilly is ready to join an active family who can keep up with her adventurous spirit and give her the secure, loving home she deserves.
Ideal Home
Lilly would thrive in an active, dog-savvy home with owners who love outdoor adventures and can keep her busy with walks, runs, and fetch. A securely fenced yard is a must to ensure her safety, given her athletic nature. She’s great with adults and older children who can engage her playful side, but small children, cats, or other pets are not a good fit due to her selective nature. Owners committed to providing mental stimulation, exercise, and a stable environment will find Lilly to be a smart, loyal, and joyful companion. A suburban or rural setting with ample space for her to explore will make Lilly’s life a true adventure.
