About Mila
Meet Mila, an 8-month-old American Staffordshire Terrier and Pit Bull Terrier Mix who’s bursting with puppy energy and love! This medium-sized, black and white/cream beauty was found abandoned with her litter at just 10 days old on January 5, 2025. Despite a rough start, Mila has grown into a playful, friendly pup who gets along wonderfully with people and other dogs. After a brief adoption that didn’t work out through no fault of her own, she’s now one of two pups left from her litter, eagerly awaiting her forever home alongside her brother Max and their mama. With her charming personality and petite size for her breed mix, Mila is ready to steal your heart!
Characteristics
Playful & Energetic: Mila’s puppy energy shines through in her love for playtime and exploration.
Friendly & Affectionate: She adores people and thrives on attention and interaction.
Smart: Mila is quick to learn and nearly potty-trained, needing just a bit of consistency.
Social: She gets along great with other dogs and is likely to adapt to cats with proper introductions.
Health and Care
Mila is spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and current on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. She’s had deworming treatments and a comprehensive health check as of July 2025. Her adoption includes a microchip with registration. Mila is nearly fully potty-trained, with only minor accidents in the busy rescue environment, and is expected to adapt quickly in a consistent home. She’s in excellent health with no reported issues, and any additional veterinary needs are covered by the adoption process. Her $360 adoption fee helps cover her medical and care expenses.
Mila’s Story
Mila, born around Christmas Day 2024, is a resilient 8-month-old American Staffordshire Terrier and Pit Bull Terrier Mix with a heart full of love. Found abandoned with her litter at just 10 days old, she was raised in a nurturing foster environment by Mending Souls in Houston, TX. Her mama, a chocolate-colored shepherd mix with a partial blue eye and a reverse Rhodesian Ridgeback stripe, suggests possible Aussie, Heeler, or Husky genes, while Mila’s size and features hint at a bully breed mix from her unknown dad, likely a 60-70 lb dog like a Pit Bull or Rottweiler. Mila, the smallest of her litter, is expected to reach about 45 lbs, similar to her mama.
Mila’s playful, social nature has made her a favorite in her foster home, where she gets along with other dogs and loves people. She hasn’t been exposed to cats or small children but shows no aggression and should adapt with proper introductions. After one adoption didn’t work out, Mila is back at the rescue, waiting for a family to give her the stable, loving home she craves. With her near-complete potty training and eager-to-please attitude, she’s ready to thrive with a little consistency and lots of love.
Ideal Home
Mila would flourish in a loving, active home with owners who can match her playful puppy energy. A securely fenced yard is ideal for her to enjoy safe playtime and burn off her enthusiasm. She’s great with adults, children, and other dogs, and likely to adapt to cats with slow introductions, making her suitable for a variety of households. Owners who can provide consistent training to polish her potty skills and offer daily playtime, walks, and affection will find Mila to be a joyful, loyal companion. A suburban or urban setting with space for her to explore will make this sweet pup’s life full of happiness.
