About Olaf
Meet Olaf, a 6-year-old White German Shepherd-Husky Mix who’s all about love, loyalty, and a bit of adventure! This large, 81-lb sweetheart has a playful bounce that’s "ridiculously cute" and a heart that’s even bigger. Olaf is affectionate, smart, and eager to please, thriving on ball games, long walks, and quality time with his people. While he needs slow introductions to build trust, once he does, he’s a Velcro dog who loves being as close as possible—whether it’s full lap snuggles or resting his head on your feet. With his gentle nature and working background, Olaf is ready to be your devoted companion.
Characteristics
Affectionate & Loyal: Olaf forms deep bonds and loves staying close to his humans.
Playful & Athletic: Enjoys ball play, adventures, and long walks with a dog buddy by his side.
Smart & Trainable: Eager to learn, with basics like come and wait already mastered.
Gentle Lap Dog at Heart: Thinks he’s tiny but happily adapts to head-on-feet cuddles.
Health and Care
Olaf is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He’s had a comprehensive health check as of October 2025 and is in excellent health with no major issues reported. His adoption includes heartworm prevention and deworming. Olaf is house-trained and crate-trained, handling alone time comfortably while working on settling in new spaces. His size and energy require a secure, active home, but he’s low-maintenance once settled. Contact the rescue for full medical details and adoption fee information.
Olaf’s Story
Olaf, a 6-year-old White German Shepherd-Husky Mix weighing 81 lbs, is a rescue success story waiting for his happy ending. With a name that evokes warmth and playfulness, he’s just like his namesake—loving hugs but needing time to feel safe. Slow introductions help him build trust, and his rescue family is guiding him toward confidence, reminding him (and us) that warming up takes time for everyone. Olaf’s "ridiculously cute" bouncy walk and affectionate circle when you’re home show his joy in connection.
An active guy who loves ball play, adventures, and long walks, Olaf knows when it’s time for belly rubs and snuggles. He’s playful yet affectionate, working on crate comfort and manners. Full disclosure: he sometimes thinks he’s a lap dog, but he’ll happily rest his head on your feet if full snuggles aren’t your thing. Olaf’s life is meant to be shared with those he loves, and he has "so much" to give once he knows you’re his person. He’s officially putting himself out there, hoping for a safe, happy place to give and receive love every day.
Ideal Home
Olaf would thrive in an active, patient home with owners who can provide slow introductions and plenty of exercise. A securely fenced yard is ideal for his size and energy, allowing safe walks and play. He’s great with adults and families who enjoy adventures, but his need for trust-building makes him best for experienced dog owners. Homes with space for his large frame and a cozy spot for snuggles will suit him perfectly. A suburban or rural setting will make Olaf’s life full of joy and loyalty.
