About Pearl

Meet Pearl, a stunning Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a beautiful blue merle coat, an enormous smile, and 51 pounds of joyful personality.

Pearl has never met a stranger. She loves everyone she meets and welcomes new friends with full-body wiggles, endless enthusiasm, and plenty of affection. Her cheerful spirit is contagious, and she has a special talent for brightening even the most difficult days.

Sadly, Pearl’s story could have ended very differently. She was facing euthanasia before receiving the second chance that saved her life. Despite everything she experienced, Pearl continues to approach the world with optimism, excitement, and an incredible capacity for love.

Now, she is ready to turn that second chance into the lasting home she deserves.

Characteristics

  • People-Loving: Pearl adores people and enthusiastically greets everyone she meets.

  • Affectionate: She enjoys receiving attention and soaking up love from her favorite people.

  • Playful: Toys, outdoor exploration, and fun activities are all wonderful ways to keep Pearl entertained.

  • Happy and Enthusiastic: Pearl approaches life with a big smile and contagious excitement.

  • Strong and Adventurous: She would enjoy having a family that includes her in active outings and outdoor adventures.

  • Full-Body Wiggle Champion: Pearl’s joyful greetings involve her entire body.

  • Beautiful and Unique: Her striking blue merle coat makes her especially memorable.

  • Resilient: Pearl survived the threat of euthanasia without allowing her past to dim her loving spirit.

Leash Training

Pearl is a strong girl who can pull on her leash when she becomes excited. Her future family should be prepared to continue helping her develop calmer, more manageable walking manners.

Consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement will be important. Rewarding Pearl for checking in, walking beside her handler, and remaining focused around distractions can help her make progress.

Pearl does not need someone who expects perfect leash manners immediately. She needs a family committed to teaching her and helping her channel her enthusiasm successfully.

Life with Other Dogs

Although Pearl was originally described as being good with other dogs, Pawsitively Saved Rescue has observed considerable dog reactivity while she has been in its care. Because of this behavior, she has not participated in playgroups.

Pearl appears to be dog-selective and would likely thrive as the only dog in her home. This would allow her to avoid uncomfortable interactions while enjoying all her family’s attention and affection.

Prospective adopters should discuss their household and Pearl’s most recent behavior directly with the rescue. The information provided does not confirm whether she has been evaluated around cats or children.

Ideal Home

Pearl is searching for a loving, committed family that will appreciate her enormous personality and help her continue becoming the best companion she can be.

Her ideal home will:

  • Allow her to be the only dog

  • Provide regular exercise, playtime, and outdoor adventures

  • Continue working on her leash manners

  • Use positive, reward-based training

  • Give her appropriate outlets for her excitement and energy

  • Cherish her goofy wiggles and playful antics

  • Provide the stability and affection she has been waiting to experience

Pearl has already beaten the odds. She escaped euthanasia, received a second chance, and continued greeting the world with love despite everything she endured.

Now, she needs someone willing to complete her rescue story by giving her a safe, joyful, and permanent place to call home.
