AARF’s dogs live in foster homes rather than at the AARF House. Dogs can be met during the rescue’s Saturday adoption fairs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., although interested adopters should check for schedule updates and confirm that Kaliha will be attending.
The adoption process begins with an application. After the application is approved and references are checked, AARF arranges a home visit. If everyone agrees that the placement is a good match, the rescue schedules the adoption.
Kaliha’s $250 adoption fee includes appropriate veterinary care such as a physical examination, spay surgery, a microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, initial deworming and flea treatment, and heartworm testing and treatment when needed.

Kaliha is a loving, friendly girl who wants to be wherever her people are. Whether everyone is enjoying time outdoors or relaxing inside, she is happiest when she can be part of the moment.
Described as a total snuggle bug, Kaliha has an affectionate nature and loves settling onto the sofa beside her favorite person. She would be a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys having a loyal dog nearby while relaxing, watching television, reading, or simply unwinding at home.
Kaliha offers a wonderful balance between an active companion and a calm housemate. She gets excited about going for walks, playing, and exploring the world around her, but she does not have the nonstop, unrestrained energy often associated with a young puppy.
Once her exercise and playtime are over, she is happy to settle down and enjoy a quieter part of the day with her family.

Kaliha enjoys spending time outside and would love joining her future family for regular walks and outdoor adventures. She walks well on a leash and has been friendly when encountering other dogs during leashed outings.
She has a playful side and enjoys keeping herself entertained with chew toys and stuffed toys. One of her funniest habits is tossing a toy into the air before chasing it down herself. Her ability to create her own fun is sure to bring plenty of laughter and personality into her future home.
Kaliha is also house-trained, giving her a helpful foundation as she transitions into a new household. Because she becomes so connected to her people, she has demonstrated excellent recall. Her adopter should continue reinforcing that skill while always taking appropriate safety precautions outdoors.

Kaliha would thrive with a family that wants an affectionate dog to share both active and quiet moments. She would appreciate regular walks, opportunities to play, plenty of toys, and lots of quality time with her people.
Although she has behaved well around other dogs while on a leash, any potential canine housemate should be introduced carefully with guidance from AARF.
Kaliha enjoys chasing birds, squirrels, and chipmunks and appears to have a strong prey drive. She needs a home without cats, rabbits, or other small animals that she might view as something to chase.
